jun 27, 1950 - U.S. aids South Korea

Description:

Truman not wanting history to repeat itself announces that the U.S. will aid South Korea by sending U.S. forces there. However, in order to help, Truman did not ask Congress for a formal declaration of war (as required by the constitution) but supported by the UN resolution made a few days later. American forces stationed in Japan were moved to South Korea; these soldiers were not trained for the circumstances they encountered nor did they have enough military equipment.
