jul 27, 1953 - Cease Fire
Description:
When Dwight D. Eisenhower was elected for president, his initiative was to conduct peace talks in order to end the war once in for all. When this did not work, Eisenhower hinted at introducing nuclear weapons. With Joseph Stalin's death and Eisenhower's nuclear talk, communists were convinced to settle the conflict. After slightly more than 3 years of fighting, both sides decided to sign a cease-fire; which is still in effect today.
