Description:
During the stalemate, MacArthur wanted to attack more and drive the Koreans back but Truman Had a policy of limited war which meant that he didn't want to fight anymore than he had to. Douglas MacArthur was very confident so he sent a letter to congress asking for permission but the letter got public and Truman fired him for insubordination.
