jan 1, 1896 - Plessy v. Ferguson
Description:
Plessy is 1/8th black and he gets on a white railroad cart. The conductor (Ferguson) kicks him off the train and Plessy sues the conductor as his 14th Amendment rights were violated. SCOTUS upheld the Ferguson's decision as Plessy's rights were not infringed as long as there was another railroad cart for black people. Validated the "Separate but Equal" mindset.
