jan 31, 1967 - Regional Master Plan

Description:

The objective of intensifying housing, to make transport and infrastructure operate more efficiently gained momentum in the 1967 “Regional Master Plan” which advocated the consolidation of partly developed areas that were already serviced, “thus avoiding the unnecessary and premature opening up of land”. This Plan, however, recognised that practical and economic considerations relating to the
redevelopment of inner areas meant the there would always be a requirement for peripheral land.
