Description:

The Social Welfare Committee responsible for health and welfare in 1977 became the Community Development, Housing and Property Committee when health was transferred to the Cultural Activities and Health Committee and some of the former responsibilities of the Cultural Activities and Property Committee were transferred to it. In 1980 it became simply the Community Development Committee when responsibilities for property and housing passed to a new committee.
