oct 1, 1986 - Family Benefit Capitalisation for Housing Purposes - stops

Description:

The capitalisation of Family Benefit was replaced by the Home Start Deposit Assistance Scheme administered by the Housing Corporation. By this time the value of the Family Benefit had significantly declined as the rate had not been increased since 1979. More significant assistance was provided for low income households via Family Support.
