dec 29, 1890 - The Wounded Knee Massacre

Description:

December 29th, 1890, another atrocity occured. Just weeks after Sitting Bull’s assasination, tensions were high. Angry after what had happened at Little Bighorn, many soldiers were eager to fight. The U.S. disarmed the Lakota fighters, but one warrior did not hear the call for surrender, and his gun went off when he was seized. This caused the U.S. to open fire, mowing down every Native American in sight, killing over 300 people. They were buried in a mass grave.
