 Euclid wrote a series of 13 books called, “Elements.” Elements was instrumental in the development of logic and modern science. It was the first documented work that Mathematics that used a series of numbered chunks to break down solution to a problem. 
1) This event was important due to, the book being so instrumental in the development of logic and modern science. Without this, the future scientists and programmer wouldn't have a base to build off of.
2) This event was crucial due to, it being the first documented work that Mathematics that used a series of numbered chunks to break down solution to a problem. 
3) As well later on, from 300 BCE to 800 AD, Euclid notes about recipes, etc., were the closest to how we think at algorithms today.
