dec 22, 1807 - EMBARGO ACT

Description:

The Embargo Act was signed by President Jefferson to ban all American ships from trading outside of the US. This Act failed because it withheld money from the US citizens. The Federalist refused it, and it ended up affecting the republican farmers also. This Act was repealed in 1809, after it was passed in 1807.
