Description:

Alger Hiss was a government employee who helped organize the UN. In 1948, Whittaker Chambers, former communist party member and espionage agent named Alger Hiss as one of his government contacts. Hiss denied everything but was sentenced to five years.

Another case is Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. They were accused of passing secret information on nuclear science to Soviets. They claimed they were being accused because they were Jewish. They were then convicted in a controversial trial and executed in 1953.
