Description:
The Third Crusade happened between 1189 - 1192. Its also known as the king's crusade because there were three kings who participated in the crusade, Frederick I of Germany, Philip II of France, Richard I of England. Frederick, died on the way to the Holy Land. Philip II soon departed for France due to conflicts with Richard I. Richard I of England won several notable battles but failed to recapture Jerusalem. Before he returned to england he managed to negotiate a free access to Jerusalem for Christian pilgrims.
