The Fundamental National Policy document called for the establishment of a ‘New Order’ in Greater East Asia, which would be based on the ‘Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity. The Fundamental National Policy was approved at a conference - even if it involved conflicts with Britain and the US. Emphasis was placed on building up the armed forces, trying to conclude the war against China, and greater economic planning. Then, Japan’s plans for a ‘Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere’ were announced.
