Parsistaparvan: It is a book written by Hemachandra. This Jaina work talks about the conversion of
Chandragupta Maurya to Jainism. He then renounced the throne in favour of his son, Bindusara and is
said to have gone to Shravanabelagola near Mysore, where he deliberately starved to death in the
approved Jaina fashion.
