Description:

The person/event/development/moment that I think represents the most significant thing to have occurred up to 1500 AD is during the Golden Age of Islam Empire, the development of Cannon of Medicine.
The designed criteria that I made up was by: 1) how many people were affected? 2) Did they have any long-lasting consequences or benefits? 3) Were there accomplishments or disasters contained to one area? How many places did it affect?
My reason for picking the Cannon of Medicine was because it suits all of my previous criteria. It has affected many people throughout many generations still continuing today and might always will. They long-lasting benefits that this development held are incredible, the made a base for all the knowledge that doctors and scientists know today about the human body. The accomplishment has spread worldwide through many ways and know everyone is the world has people that are in some way shape or form educated about what is explained in these books. These set of books might not be related to current issues per say, but has had a big contribution to the foundation of medicine.

Cannon of Medicine was a definite turning point in history – in medicine but at the time of this civilization existed, I’m not sure that it had a huge impact from the beginning. In the possibility that it did, it would have changed the way the approached medical issues and bodily harm. I define a turning point as ‘a time at which a decisive change in a situation occurs, especially one with beneficial results’.
