Description:
For the first time in 200 years, Japan was forcibly opened again by the U.S., letting Russia, Britain, and the United States able to visit and trade with them anytime they want. Choshu and Satsuma (City-States) didn’t agree with this, and with the help of Britain in 1868 they overthrew the Shogunate (Military dictators) in a period that was called the Boshin war. After the war they renamed the capital, Edo to Tokyo (Eastern Capital).
