-Plessy's lawyers argued that the law was unconstitutional
-After losing the trial, Plessy appealed to the US Supreme Court
-Plessy lost again, with the supreme court stating that the 14th amendment was NOT violated. It is regarded as one of the worst decisions in Supreme Court history.
