may 30, 1854 - Kansas-Nebrask act
Description:
The Kansas Nebraska act was passed to allow Kansas and Nebraska to choose whether they wanted to be a slave or free state. This basically repealed the Missouri Compromise, and allowed their own choice not decided on by the 36 30 line. This caused sectionalism because it let them choose whether their state was free or slave and ignored the Missouri compromise's 36 30 line.
