sep 4, 2019 - Formal Withdrawal
Description:
On September 4th, Chief Executive Carrie Lam announces the formal, complete withdrawal of the Extradition Bill. While the Bill's withdrawal was the primary directive of the protests, at this point, many firmly believe that it's much too late to retract the Bill now [23]. The message from Beijing to Hong Kong has been sent, and the people of Hong Kong remember all too well the events surrounding the Tiananmen Square massacre in the 80s. Many believe that the need for a completely autonomous Hong Kong has never been greater than it is right now.
