dec 30, 1922 - Fitzgerald goes
into a decline
Description:
After trying multiple times to write a screenplay for plays on Broadway and failing, Fitzgerald lost a significant amount of money and had to fall back on the work of writing short stories. Through these large distractions in his life, Scott had lost focus and halted his progress working on his 3rd novel. Even further, Scott was beginning to drink more and more, resulting in him becoming a bit of an alcoholic. Because of this many publishers and editors began to distrust Fitzgerald and would refuse to work with him worried that his alcoholism would lead to his writing skills to be very inept.
