Description:
The election of 1860 resulted in Abraham Lincoln's victory with him winning a minority of the popular vote but a majority of the electorate vote. He won without a single electorate vote from the South. The Democrats had more popular votes but split their ticket which lead to their demise. Abraham Lincoln's victory was good for slavery as he was the first president to champion African American freedom.
