8 h, dec 21, 2019 y - Washing my Hair: Pantene

Description:

On Monday, December 20th, 2019, I woke up at around 8:00 am to wash my hair with my shampoo, Pantene. Pantene is a Swiss-created brand, now American, owned by Procter & Gamble in 1985 to compete with P&G. Their products were first introduced in Europe in 1945 by Hoffmann-La Roche in Switzerland. Its headquarters are now located in Ohio, US. Procter & Gamble is a multinational company, thus allowing them to reach consumers across the globe. Other products I use in my hair are mainly manufactured in foreign countries for cheaper labour and are imported into Canada. This is because Canada is not well known for their beauty product manufacturing and as a result of the high demand for beauty products.
Mainly cultural and economic factors of globalization impact the shampoo the most. Because there are so many different global companies, we Canadians have an abundance of different shampoos to choose from. Many of these companies do not originate from Canada and thus allow us to experience a variety of cultural companies. In addition to this, because they’re produced from foreign countries, the shampoos will be cheaper as a result of cheap labour.
