Description:

In c. 800-870, Mahavira Acharya from Karnataka, the last Jain mathematician, lived in the 9th century and was patronized by the Rashtrakuta King, Amoghavarsha. He wrote a book titled Ganita Saar Sangrah on numerical mathematics, and also wrote treaties about a wide range of mathematical topics which include:
-Plane Geometry
-Solid Geometry
-Problems relating to the casting of the shadows
-Formulae derived to calculate the area of an ellipse and a quadrilateral inside of a circle.
