Space Invaders is an arcade video game which was created by Tomohiro Nishikado and was released in 1978. Space Invaders is one of the earliest shooting games and the aim of the game is to defeat waves of aliens with a laser cannon and the aim is to earn the highest points as possible. This game has been inspiration for many other video games for example it has been re released on many different platforms and its led to several sequels. Because microcomputers in Japan were not powerful enough at the time to perform the complex tasks involved in designing and programming Space Invaders, Nishikado had to design his own custom hardware and development tools for the game. They created the arcade board by using the new microprocessors which are available from the United States.
