Description:
The Louisiana Purchase which was purchased by Thomas Jefferson had a very significant impact on America. It nearly doubled the size of America increasing the desire for Manifest Destiny. This purchase obviously led to increased lands, meaning more states. In the future, they would need to decide whether these states would become free or slave states, thus increasing sectionalism.
