Most retail businesses are thriving, thanks to their global position. Achieving globalization allows them to enter new markets and achieve a greater overall profit. This is especially evident during the holiday season, where malls are full of bustling people trying to find the hottest things on the shelves to buy for their friends and family. I bought my sister, an iPhone case that was manufactured in China and imported to Canada. This iPhone case was most likely mass-produced by workers getting paid very little. I bought my Mom a Pandora necklace; Pandora originated in Denmark and was able to enter the Canadian market through globalization. Before globalization, they must have considered the demand for their products as a cultural factor. This company also employs several workers in third world countries such as Thailand, where the company manufactures its jewelry. In both cases, globalization offered economic benefits for the companies while having a negative environmental impact through their unethical production process.
