Description:
When I buy food from Tim Hortons, I usually have some sort of caffeinated drink in my order. Tim Hortons imports coffee that is grown by small coffee farmers in some of the most renowned growing regions in the world, like Colombia and Guatemala. Although they have not disclosed whether or not their coffee is fair trade or not, that information would be a cultural factor of globalization, as many consumers are now becoming more aware of the effects of unethical working conditions in third world countries. Another cultural factor of globalization that Tim Hortons would have to consider is how opening more branches in the U.S. and eventually worldwide is going to affect their Canadian “value” and identity.
