Description:
UNIVAC stands for Universal Automatic Computer. This is designed by Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation during the 1950’s. The most famous product is UNIVAC 1 which is a mainframe computer. This is mainly used for computing large input and output hence; it predicted the outcome of the 1952 presidential elections and can handle numbers and alphabets really well. It is a giant computer compared to what we have now they even use vacuum tubes for computations and are considered as a forerunner of today’s digital computers.
