Description:
The founder of the Inca dynasty, Manco Capac, led his tribe to the Cuzco Valley region and established the capital in Cuzco. Named as "Land of the Four Quarters" or Tahuantinsuyu, the empire stretched miles along the high mountainous Andean range from Colombia to Chile and reached west to east from the dry coastal desert called Atacama to the steamy Amazonian rain forest.
