jan 1, 1863 - The Emincipation Proclaimation

Description:

Issued by Lincoln, the Proclamation "Freed" slaves, and let them enlist in the Union Army. Because the Confederacy was it's own country, it didn't follow this law. Nevertheless, this gave many slaves the courage to run to the Union, and gave the Union an advantage in the war.
