Russian inventor Vladimir Kosma Zworykin invented an improved cathode ray tube called the kinescope in 1929. He was one of the first to demonstrate a system with all the features that would come to make up televisions.
RCA, the company that dominated the radio business in the U.S invested $50 million in the development of electronic television. The company president David Sarnoff hired Zworykin.
