oct 18, 1346 - First recorded incident of the Black Death
Description:
While there is no determinative evidence saying where exactly the plague began, the first case is said to have happened in China, in the lands of the Golden Horde. During this time the Mongol driven Tartar army was still at large and laying siege to places. This particular time they were attacked a popular seaport in Crimea called Kaffa when they were infected with the plague. Rats had infested their camp and the fleas they carried were hosts for the Bubonic plague.
