A group of Islamist extremists hijacked 4 planes two of which were flown into the twin towers. The third one crashed into Pentagon and the Fourth one crashed into a field. It was the biggest terrorist attack in the US. Many people were killed, including emergency workers and firefighters who went into the building to help people.
