apr 20, 1792 - France declares war on Austria
Description:
As France began to sink further and further into chaos, nations such as Hapsburg Austria began to grow wary of the new French democracy and feared that it would threaten their own position of power or even embolden the people of other countries to do the same. Austria responded by stationing troops on the border of France and the Holy Roman Empire. The Legislative Assembly stated threatened that if Austria did not recall their troops, they would be met with a war declaration. Of course they didn't so France issued a formal declaration of war against Austria.
