Description:

The Union blockaded the South from trading with others by sending ships down and not letting anyone in or out of the ports. The South responded by sending an ironclad ship named The Virginia to take out the weak wooden ships. The Union responded in turn with its ironclad Monitor. Neither the fight that ensued was a stalemate and they both turned around and went home.
