Description:
In 1964, Ayatollah Khomeini, a prominent political opponent of the Shah, and a religious leader was exiled by the Shah because of his dissenting opinions. This ultimately increased dissent in the Iranian populace due to the fact that the Ayatollah had been representative of their opinions, but this representation had been quelled and the unpopular Shah had caused this. This ultimately led to the revolution many years later.
