Description:

People saw King Lous XVI as a traitor as he tried to secretly flee the country. The Legislative Assembly place the Kind and Queen under arrest. The monarchy was abolished and France was declared a Republic. The King was charged with treason and found guilty, he was then driven through the streets of Paris to a guillotine and decapitated. Queen Marie was also found guilty of numerous crimes and guillotined the same day.
