jan 1, 2500 BC - Papyrus Scrolls In Egypt
Description:
The first papyrus was only used in Egypt, but by about 1000 BC, people all over West Asia began buying papyrus from Egypt and using it, since it was much more convenient than clay tablets. People made papyrus in small sheets and then glued the sheets together to make big pieces.
Papyrus still exists in Egypt today but in greatly reduced number. This media device is familiar to us since this topic was discussed during our history class. We do not use these scrolls anymore because papers are now readily made available.
