Description:

At this point, the Soviet Union is rising to power, with all of their captured satellite countries. Their influence was growing, and countries feared that the Soviet Union would continue to expand their control. In response, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was formed. Its main purpose was to defend each other from any Soviet communist control. This action of collective security increased tensions between the US and Soviet Union.
