Description:

This was the first detailed history of the Forest of Dean in its own right, and included a description of the contemporary Forest. Nicholls drew on a wide range of sources, including his own knowledge of the Forest as curate at Holy Trinity (‘Forest’) church. The book was republished in 1966.
