mar 30, 1925 - Art Deco
Description:
In March 1925, Paris held an international exhibition for modern art in which "les arts decoratifs" aka "Art Deco" made a prominent appearance.
This style was used in fashion and jewelry, architecture, furniture, and paintings and used materials from aluminium and stainless steel to lacquer, wood, enamel and animal skins.
The Chrysler Building (ca. 1928-1930) in New York City is a good example of Art Deco in architecture (as is the background of this timeline!)
