sep 27, 2018 - Hearing for Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh
Description:
Judge Brett Kavanaugh was on President Trump's shortlist to become the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. When learning about this nomination, Christine Blasey Ford, a professor and research psychologist, came forward and testified her claims that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were teenagers in the summer of 1982. Kavanaugh denied the allegations and a hearing was held, following a long string of events building up the accusation. Ricki Seidman, a democratic adviser who helped Anita Hill prepare for her testimony against Clarence Thomas in 1991, personally advised Ford in navigating the hearing. Ford claims were found to be "weak", a "he said, she said" case, and
failed to corroborate" with other witnesses. The Senator confirmed Kavanaugh's nomination by a vote of 50-58.
