jun 7, 1497 - Treaty of Tordesillas
Description:
The Treaty of Tordesillas was an agreement made by Pope Alexander VI and made between Spain and Portugal to divide the New found land Columbus and Vespucci had discovered. It was created to avoid conflict because the last thing the Pope wanted was to have Two Catholic countries fighting. This changed the landscape on how the Catholic countries explored and colonized.
