The Spanish Inquisition, created by King Philip II of Spain, was made to find and convert any heretics to the Catholic Church, or those who weren't Catholic. It lasted for nearly 356 years, starting on November 1, 1478, and ending on July 15, 1834. Under the Inquisition, thousands died after they were kidnapped and eventually tortured, and even more were expelled from their home.Added to timeline:
