Description:
Sir Francis Drake was infamously called by Queen Elizabeth to defend the Spanish Armada, but insisted on finishing his Bocce ball game. The purpose of the Armada was to transport troops from the Netherlands in to England. Drake lit a few ships on fire, and sent them into the harbor; Spanish ships quickly cut their anchors to escape. The ships were now unable to stop, so they sailed up north around Ireland. They were battered by the cold and storms, with few ships returning to Spain. This led to a religious crisis between Protestants and Catholics, because the Protestants believed God wanted them to win.
