Description:

From 1630, Richelieu strengthened the power of the crown by streamlining bureaucracy.
This put more emphasis on the key minister in the conseil d’en haut (The inner circle of main policy makers.)
Contact with the provinces was maintained by the conseil des depeches (A sovereign court established to enforce the kings rule).
Richelieu continued to make the size of decision making bodies smaller.
