sep 2, 1945 - WWII ends; Unit 731 is shut down
Description:
Shortly after Japan's surrender, Unit 731 was shut down. It's not known for sure how many prisoners were left at the time, but the 150-400 people left were shot so there was no evidence of the unit. It is believed that 12,000 people were killed directly, but totals are between 300,000-500,000; many people were infected and experimented on, resulting in later death, and Japan released millions of plague-infested rats and fleas into the area, killing many local Chinese for the next several years.
