17 h, nov 1, 2004 y - Rick gives Carl his old gun back, Jessie and Ron sleep over. (Issue 80)

Description:

- Day 471
- Rick gives Carl his old gun back and reminds him to never take it out unless he absolutely has to. Carl asks if Rick can tell if he's scared, but Rick can't. Carl says that's good, and one day he's going to grow up to be a leader just like his dad. They hug.
- Jessie and Ron knock on the door with their arms full of clothes and supplies. Jessie asks if it would be ok for them to sleep over temporarily seen as Rick mentioned moving into fewer houses. Rick says it's no problem and invites them in.
- While Abraham is on watch, Douglas curses himself while convinced that they're all going to die. Spencer walks in on him and gets concerned.
- After setting up a room for Jessie and Ron, Rick joins Jessie downstairs and asks her if she can look after Carl while he goes on his patrol shift in a few hours, Jessie says it's fine. Ron walks into Carl's room and wakes him up. He menacingly tells him that Rick killed his dad. Carl sits up and informs Ron that Rick has killed loads of people, and he has too. Ron asks why his dad has to be the bad one and walks off crying.
- Jessie asks Rick why he bothered to help with the Pete situation. Rick tells her that everything he has ever done is to protect his family. Eventually Pete was going to cause trouble outside the family and so in the long run, Rick helping is no better than those who did nothing. Jessie doesn't see it that way and tells him he's amazing. Rick thanks her but decides to go to bed, ready for his late shift.
