General José de Urrea was the commander of the Mexicans. In the early morning texans attacked Mexicans while they were sleeping. They attacked at Presidio La Bahía a fort the Mexicans were at.Instead of taking cover in the nearby woods, Fannin ordered his men to form a square. They were captured by Santa Anna. Fannin and his men died by each of them shot in the head. Santa Anna had no mercy on letting them live. Some people say that some soldiers missed on purpose so that they can escape.
