apr 21, 1836 - Battle of San Jancinto

Description:

Texas makes it to San Jancinto first and hides in its tall grass. Then Mexico shows up. They wait for reinforcements. For a few days they wait and Mexican reinforcements show up they are all tired and hungry as they all were, so they decided to have a big feast. They got stuffed and they took a nap. Then Sam Houston called a meeting. He said that they were going to fight tomorrow, but the Texans disagreed and took a vote and decided they wanted to do it at 3:00 p.m. that day. So while the Mexicans were sleeping they shout “Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!” Some were injured Sam Houston, and James Neill included. Sam Houston got hit in the leg with a musket ball. Santa Anna dressed as a soldier and ran off. The Texans found him and he surrendered. Promising Texas the land to the Rio Grande. Nine Texans died. 650 Mexicans.
